MTU athlete to ski in World games
Michigan Tech University sophomore Raphael Bechtiger will represent his home country of Austria at the World University games later this week in Trentino, Italy. Bechtiger is a member of the Nordic ski team at Michigan Tech.
The Huskies sophomore will participate in three events at the World University games. Bechtiger will ski in the double pursuit race on Thursday, Dec. 12. The double pursuit race is a 7.5 kilometer mass start classic followed by a 7.5 kilometer freestyle run.
On Saturday, Dec 14., Bechtiger will compete in the sprint classic. His final race at the games will be a 10 kilometer freestyle on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
