Forest Park falls to Beal City
Turnovers were the difference in the Division 8 high school football semifinal game on Saturday, Nov. 23 between Beal City and Forest Park. The Aggies won the game, 34-18 over the Trojans.
Forest Park scored first the first touchdown of the game. Trojans quarterback Jeff Johnson found Austin Snell wide open from 1-yard out, giving Forest Park a 6-0 lead after the first quarter.
Beal City got on the scoreboard midway through the second quarter. Running back Ty Rollin followed the right side of his offensive line for the 1-yard score, giving the Aggies a 7-6 lead.
On the ensuing kickoff, the football hit a Forest Park player and the Aggies recovered the ball at the Trojans’ 36-yard line. Two plays later, Beal City scored on a 36-yard screen pass from quarterback Kurt Gross to Ty Rollin to give the Aggies a 14-6 halftime lead.
Forest Park fumbled the football three different times in the second half. Beal City scored 20 points off the four turnovers by the Trojans.
Beal City moves on to the state finals next week at Ford Field in Detroit. The Aggies will face Muskegon Catholic Central (12-0) in the finals on Friday, Nov. 29 at 10 a.m.
Forest Park finishes the season with a 12-1 record.
