Citizen helps driver out of burning vehicle
An 82-year-old driver is safe after his car caught fire in Gladstone Tuesday afternoon.
Gladstone Public Safety Officers and firefighters responded to the fire at North 9th Street and Delta Avenue by Jerry’s Service Center around 4:15 p.m.
A Michigan State Police Trooper was following the vehicle and used a fire extinguisher to diminish the flames until water could be used. A citizen helped the 82-year-old driver out of the vehicle and police say the driver is okay.
The incident is still under investigation.
The Delta County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
