The Marquette American Legion Blues traveled to Gladstone to resume the game from Tuesday night that was suspended due to rain. The Indians were able to plate 5 runs in the first inning back and were able to shut the door on the Blues for the win. The win puts Gladstone in a two way tie for 2nd place with Kingsford in the Mid Pen League.
Tie breakers will be applied before the League Playoffs this weekend in Channing to see who is the number two seed for the playoffs. The Blues had already sowed up the number one seed earlier in the week.
“When we finished our game against Ishpeming on Monday, that actually put us out of reach for the number 1 seed this weekend. We played at Ishpeming, at Gladstone, at Hancock and then back to Gladstone this week. We were pretty tired tonight and Gladstone was in a must win situation. They did a good job, but the bases shouldn’t have been loaded as the game should have been suspended sooner on Tuesday,” said Blues assistant coach Randy Larson.
