Summer weather arrives in the U.P.
The summer weather that has been missing from the Upper Peninsula has finally arrived.
After more than a month of cooler temperatures, the next few days should see warmer temperatures.
While the U.P. will not see anything in the triple digits like parts of the country, the combination of heat and humidity can make things unpleasant.
“Forecast for the next couple of days the temperature is probably going to be in the mid to upper 80’s,” National Weather Service Meteorologist Matt Zika said. “Nothing record breaking, nothing way beyond something we wouldn’t expect this time of year. But the fact that it’s warm, it’s humid and we haven’t had that many bouts of it this year makes it pretty uncomfortable.”
When the weather gets this hot, it is important to take care of yourself and take the proper precautions.
If you are planning on being outside for long periods of time and being active, it is important to drink plenty of fluids and take occasional breaks in the shade.
