After the regional semifinals and finals were completed on Saturday, the Upper Peninsula now has two softball teams still alive in the hunt for a state championship.
In Division 2, Escanaba defeated Cadillac and Remus Chippewa Hills to advance to the state quarterfinals. The Eskymos will play against Saginaw Swan Valley in the quarterfinals Tuesday at Central Michigan University. First pitch is set for 1pm.
Joining Escanaba in the quarterfinals, but in Division 3 is Gladstone. The Braves will battle Unionville-Sebewaing in the quarterfinal round Tuesday at Traverse City West High School. Game time from Traverse City is set for 3pm.
