Tech skiers conclude 2013 Championships

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Kyle Hanson posted strong finishes in both the freestyle sprints and distance classic races to conclude competition at the 2013 US Junior National Nordic Ski Championships.

Hanson, who was competing in his hometown of Fairbanks, Alaska, finished fifth in his semifinal heat of the freestyle sprints. He also finished 18th in the 15-kilometer classic race in 47:01.

Thomas Kendrick and Sam Holmes finished fourth and sixth in the quarterfinal heats of the sprints. Kendrick finished 17th in the 15-kilometer classic race in 46:37.

Ruth Oppliger finished sixth in the quarterfinal heats of the free style sprints and 30th in the 10-kilometer classic race in 42:22.
