Wintry Weather hits the U.P.
This winter has been very mild, and much drier than usual. But last night and this morning were closer to how many people in the U.P. imagine the season. Higher–terrain areas of Marquette County, and some areas of Gogebic County, received as much as five inches of snow. That led to winter weather advisories, lasting until about noon today.
There could be some more white stuff tonight.
But last night and this morning have been an exception this season, not the rule. The National Weather Service Station in Negaunee Township has had much less snow than usual. The snow led to slippery roads.
Gogebic County has seen a series of minor accidents. In Marquette County, a car accident on M–95 in Republic this morning did not lead to any injuries.
