Tech Women's B-Ball win game over UW-Parkside

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech women’s basketball led from start to finish in a 66-53 win at No. No. 16 UW-Parkside Saturday (Nov. 24).

“We made a goal to hold them under 55 points, and we did that today,” said head coach Kim Cameron. “Our defense really stepped up today.”

The Huskies held the Rangers to just 34-percent (19-56) from the floor and 20 first half points. UWP only made one of its 14 3-point attempts in the contest.

Sam Hoyt <http://michigantechhuskies.com/sports/wbkb/2012-13/bios/hoyt%20sam00.html>led  all scorers with a season-high 23 points. The senior guard made three consecutive 3-pointers late in the first half for the Huskies. She tallied four assists.

Junior Taylor Stippel<http://michigantechhuskies.com/sports/wbkb/2012-13/bios/stippel%20taylor00.html>was the only other player in double figures with 10 points.

Freshman Kylie Moxley<http://michigantechhuskies.com/sports/wbkb/2012-13/bios/KylieMoxley>scored a career-high eight points and grabbed six rebounds for Tech.

The Huskies shot 43-percent (23-53) from the floor and 43-percent (6-14) from behind the arc.

Gaby Bronson led three Rangers in double figures with 11 points.

Tech will open GLIAC play at Malone Thursday (Nov. 29).
