Smoking might be banned in Houghton city parks
Smoking may become illegal in city parks in Houghton.
There soon may be fewer places where smoking is allowed in the city of Houghton.
The City Council is proposing a ban on the use of all kinds of tobacco products in all city-owned parks and beaches except the City of Houghton RV Park.
Violations will be punishable by a $50 fine.
Smoking in cars would still be allowed.
A public meeting will be held on August 22nd before the council votes on the ordinance.
