Emergency Information & Media
The drill also tested how Marquette General Health System could respond to a large number of burn patients arriving at the same time.
It also tested how NMU disseminates emergency information.
NMU Public Safety knows it can’t stop people from spreading information through social media, so it won’t try to stop that.
But they hope people will follow more traditional sources.
Director Mike Bath says campus officials will work with the news media to spread information as quickly as possible about what’s going and where on campus people should or shouldn’t be.
NMU also has an emergency text alert program for immediate information.
The school does not charge anything for the emergency alert program, but the messages may incur data charges from your cell service provider.
