Salvation Army Kettle Drive Progress
The Salvation Army’s holiday season kettle drive is entering the home stretch.
An ambitious goal for Marquette County is in sight, but it may not be reached.
The proceeds help local residents in need year–round, frequently in the form of rent and utility assistance.
The Marquette and Ishpeming Salvation Armies have a $90,000 dollar goal this year for the two of them combined.
Ishpeming Salvation Army Lt. Stephen Hansen says they’re 82% of the way to the goal, so that means the kettles have brought in just shy of $75,000 dollars in Marquette County so far.
Last year’s drive brought in $83,000.
Volunteers are also needed to serve as bell ringers.
If you’re interested in doing that, or in making a donation after Christmas, simply contact your local Salvation Army.
