Mental Health Care Options Needed at Jail
There are even more signs, as if we needed any more, that the state’s economy is sliding downhill.
The group providing mental health care to U.P. jail inmates who need it is discontinuing that service at the end of the month.
Pathways has provided mental health services to the Marquette County Jail for years.
Next month, they’re stopping that.
The funding just isn’t there.
The Marquette County Board of Commissioners is trying to come up with a solution.
The county board is meeting tonight to talk about their options and to get bids together to continue those services at the jail.
The board has until New Year’s Day to do something.
They’ll be talking about bid amounts and potential companies when they get together tonight.
