Sheriff’s Deputy Gets Probation in Assault Case

A Delta County Sheriff’s Deputy who pleaded no contest to attacking a man last summer while off duty will spend 6 months on probation.

48-year-old Brian Lauscher of Gladstone has also been given a delay of sentence.

If he completes his probation without further incident, the misdemeanor assault and battery charge against him will be dropped.

Back in June, he attacked 43-year-old Ron Beauchamp of Wells at a Gladstone home.

Beauchamp suffered facial injuries and 2 broken ribs.

Lauscher has been suspended from his job without pay.

His future will be up to a review of the case with a special prosecutor.

He’s also gone through an alcohol-related assessment.
