Marquette City Commission Tackles Truck Noise

The Marquette City Commission hasn’t heard the last of residents’ complaints about truck noise as a quality-of-life issue.

The commissioners are meeting tonight to talk about several issues related to truck traffic on city streets.

Residents living on Wright Street have been coming forward to the city with complaints ever since construction began in the area.

Tonight, commissioners plan to create a timeline of road repairs and construction to the street.

The commission is also juggling complaints with the new trucking route mapped straight through that same area.

Although the city does plan to address the issue tonight, no firm decisions will be made until after the city-wide meeting scheduled for the 31st.

The city commission will then address both truckers’ and residents’ qualms with the new route and made a decision based on their response.
