2 Gladstone Recall Efforts Dropped
2 people on the Gladstone school board now won’t have to face a fight at the ballot box to drive them from office before their terms are up.
A group called the Committee to Improve Gladstone Schools filed recall petitions against 4 school board members.
Their petitions against Linda Howlett and Gloria McDonnell have been dropped.
The petitions were based on actions Howlett and McDonnell took before their current terms, and that’s not something elected officials can be recalled for.
The petition against Howlett cited a decision she made in office but mentioned the wrong date.
The Delta County Elections Board is having a hearing tomorrow.
That’ll decide whether the petitions against Steve O’Driscoll and Gary Micheau are worded clearly enough to go onto the November ballot.
