MARQUETTE — It’s time for racers to get back on their bikes and gear up for the 16th UP Health System’s Ore to Shore event. Michigan’s largest, mass start, point–to–point race returns this summer.

The Ore to Shore bike race will travel through Nagaunee, Ishpeming and Marquette. The event has races for all ages and every skill level. But wait, there’s more… Some new changes will be added this year.

Director of Operations, Nikki DeWald said, “We are going to be releasing a fat tire division during the race and we also will be making a change to the finish line.”

The finish line will still be at Lakeview Arena, but instead of being in the back it will be in the front and on the side of the building for a bigger and better finish. In the meantime UP Health Systems are looking for entries from local artists for their official event T-shirts.

DeWald said, “About twenty-five-hundred people will feature your artwork, we also offer one-hundred-dollars and an expo booth at our Friday night expo to the winning artist.”

The entry should showcase the location of the race and that it will be held on August 8, 2015.
