ISHPEMING — A grant provided by Michigan State University sparked a “charette” at the senior center in Ishpeming today.

The city welcomed the community and stake–holders in the Lake Bancroft area to discuss options and opportunities for undergoing some project development out there.

Ishpeming City Manager, Mark Slown explained that many ideas are being discussed, “Everything from potentially improving the lake water quality to putting in a pavilion or even residential development. This is an opportunity for people to put them all together and see what kind of plan we can come up with.”

Attendees were asked to fill out a questionnaire.

The idea was to have some concrete ideas set–up to re–discuss in two months.

And the hope is for final recommendations to be made in fall.
