MARQUETTE — Here in the U.P. we understand that even though it may not seem like it sometimes, winter will eventually come to an end. With the end of the winter season brings us to construction season.

Over the summer, the Michigan Department of Transportation will be resurfacing and installing paved shoulders from the Carp River to Nicolet Boulevard in Marquette on US-forty one. Construction is scheduled to start on April twentieth and MDOT estimates it will be done in late August.

Drivers passing through the area during that time should expect lane closures.
