County Board Approves Civil Counsel Contract
After much deliberation and a several week delay the Marquette County Board has approved the Civil Counsel Contract. Attorney Stephen Adamini was offered the position earlier last month. However, the contract process took longer than expected due to questions regarding language and hours of service.Tonight board members pushed forward to make the decision final. Adamini was also on hand to reassure the Commissioners and clear up any unanswered questions. The board also approved the Lake Superior Community Partnerships 2012 contract. The County provides 10% of the Partnerships annual budget. In February the LSCP will reveal their strategic plan for the next three years. In 2012 the organization plans to focus on economic development, regional collaboration, talent enhancement and legislative backing. The Board also heard new information regarding the issue of jail overcrowding in Marquette County we’ll have more on that tomorrow night at 5:30.
