June is Cat Adoption Month, UPAWS offering adoption specials
MARQUETTE — Have you thought about adopting a cat recently? Well, now is the perfect time.
Shelters across the US are recognizing June as Cat Adoption Month, including our very own UPAWS.
“It is June Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, and we celebrate it every year,” said Ann Brownell, Community Outreach Coordinator for UPAWS.” This year, across the nation, everybody is celebrating cats, because the shelters are very full come spring and summer. So at UPAWS, we are doing specials. For $25, you can adopt a cat that is the age of 1 years old to 6 years old, and if they’re over 7 years old, the fee will be waved.”
Although this time of year sees an increase in cats in shelters, this year there is also a large influx of dogs in shelters.
