New salon for men celebrated ribbon cutting

MARQUETTE — One new salon tailored towards the fellas was cutting more than hair today.

The Guys Place – A Hair Salon for Men celebrated their Ribbon Cutting Ceremony today. With your haircut, the salon offers a flat screen T.V. in each booth, a place to charge your phone, peanuts, as well as large lounge chairs while you wait. Owners of the salon say that they hope to create an atmosphere where men can relax while they get their hair cut.

“We cater to just the guys in general. They don’t have to go to a salon where there is lots of blow dryers going, and it smells like chemicals and things like that,” co-owner Kurt Peterson said. “We offer big lounge chairs for them to relax in. We have guy magazines,hunting magazines, outdoor magazines, sporting magazines; things like that, what guys want to go and read.”
