Head on collision sends three to hospital
UPDATE — 7:55 p.m. Friday, May 29th, 2015 (EDT)
CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP — A head on two vehicle collision between a silver Chevy Impala and a blue Chevy Aveo sent three people to the hospital.
The accident happened around 5 p.m. on M-28 in Harvey near a rest stop by Lake Superior. An East bound blue Chevrolet Aveo driven by Christopher Plominski of Macmillan was struck by a West bound silver Chevy Impala driven by Zoe Slagle of East Lansing.
The three people involved were transported to UP Health System – Marquette. At this time the extent of the injuries appear to be non-life threatening. Neither alcohol or excessive speed were a factor in the crash. Slagle was cited for driving left of center.
Road conditions were extremely foggy and drivers are advised to drive with caution. Traffic was backed up on M-28 for about an hour.
Chocolay Township Police were assisted at the scene by the Chocolay Township Fire Dept, Mqt. County Sheriff’s Office, Marquette City Police, and Paramedics from UP Health Systems Marquette and Ishpeming ambulances.
