New surgeon headed to UP Health System – Marquette

MARQUETTE — There’s going to be a new surgeon in town very soon at UP Health System – Marquette.

Officials from the hospital announced Wednesday that Paul Kemmeter, M.D., F.A.C.S., will be performing bariatric surgery starting in June. Dr. Kemmeter is one of four surgeons who comprise Grand Health Partners of Grand Rapids. As part of a three-year contract between the partnership and UP Health System, Kemmeter will provide bariatric services and hold office hours and operating room block times at the hospital.

Officials say the addition of Kemmeter will once again ensure that the entire U.P. region has a high quality option for bariatric surgery close to home.
