Tech’s Stelzer earns GLIAC award
BAY CITY, Mich. — Michigan Tech men’s basketball player Ben Stelzer (Manitowoc, Wis.) has been named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week for his efforts last week. The senior guard scored 28 points in a 60-58 win at Minnesota Duluth in the Huskies season opener.
Stelzer made 10-of-17 field goals including 7-of-10 3-pointers in the contest. His 18 points in the opening half kept Tech within five at half. The Preseason GLIAC Player of the Year also had three rebounds and a steal in 39 minutes of action.
Michigan Tech continues its early season schedule with a trip to Marshall, Minn., this weekend for the Southwest Minnesota State Classic. The Huskies take on the host Mustangs Friday (Nov. 28) at 9 p.m. (ET) and Wayne State College (Neb.) Saturday (Nov. 29) at 5 p.m. (ET).
