Iron Mountain goes 1-0-1 in Marquette County
ISHPEMING – The Iron Mountain High School girls tennis team took care of business Thursday in Ishpeming. The Mountaineers defeated Mid Peninsula Conference foe, Ishpeming, 8-0. Iron Mountain then traveled the short distance from Ishpeming to West Ishpeming, where they played the Westwood Patriots to a 4-4 draw.
Iron Mountain’s Katie Brule (No. 1 Singles), Olivia Truscott (No. 2 Singles), Emily Chang (No. 3 Singles) and the No. 1 Doubles duo of Kate Bugni & Emily Bugni all went 2-0 on the day for the Mountaineers.
In other girls’ tennis action, Marquette defeated Gladstone, 5-3, and Escanaba defeated Menominee, 7-1. The Eskymos are 2-0 to start the season.
