Mqt. County Swine Flu Hotline Coming Back
A lot of people across the region are still concerned about the H1N1 virus.
In Marquette County, there are so many that the swine flu hotline that was up for a few days is coming back.
The county Health Department set up the hotline last week.
It was open for calls last Friday, plus Monday and Tuesday of this week.
They don’t have an exact tally of how many people called over those 3 days.
But they say it was definitely enough to keep the project going.
Corinne Brownell from the Health Department expects it’ll be ready again by Monday, November 11th.
Once it happens, it’ll remain available for as long as it’s needed.
But one more thing has to happen before those phone lines can open back up.
Volunteers have to be available to answer them.
Brownell says they’re looking for some.
The hotline numbers will stay the same.
They’re 475-1175, 475-1176 or toll-free at 1-888-363-9708.
The State Police chipped in much of the technical expertise needed to start the hotline.
