8th Annual Backpack Party in Ishpeming

Many families that still needed a few more back–to–school supplies were able to stop by the Ishpeming Salvation Army and pick up exactly what they needed.

The Salvation Army hosted its 8th Annual Backpack Party earlier today. 200 signed up for backpacks this year. Thanks to the many donations none left empty–handed.

With the economy the way it is, more and more families need to squeeze every penny, and the Salvation Army is more than happy to help out.

Once the children picked up their backpacks, the families were treated to free snacks and games.
