About Halfway Home for New History Museum
The Marquette County History Museum is getting closer to building its long-awaited new home.
Plans for the new museum have been in the works for several years now.
And they’re about halfway to their fundraising goal.
The museum will move from its longtime home on Front Street in Marquette to the old Marq-Tran bus terminal on Spring Street.
So far, they’ve raised $2.2 million.
But they still need $2.5 million more.
Right now, 3 new exhibits are already in the works for the new museum to occupy some of its much-needed additional space.
Museum staff plan to break ground this fall and open the new home in the fall of 2010.
