Trial Delay for Funeral Director
An Iron River funeral director is going to trial in late September on the most recent charges against him.
55-year-old Terry Langenberg is facing 20 different felony charges.
All of them are related to alleged fraudulent business practices.
He was scheduled for trial in August, but his original attorney withdrew from the case last week.
A judge granted a continuance to give his new lawyer time to prepare a case.
State police from the Iron River post arrested him around Thanksgiving-time last year.
Langenberg’s charges include, among many other things, 1 count of conducting a criminal enterprise and 8 counts of embezzlement.
He served 60 days in jail for a case from late last year where he pleaded guilty to 4 counts of violating funeral contract rules.
