Fatal Caspian Fire
One person is dead after a house fire in Iron County overnight.
The fire started shortly after midnight Central time at a 2-story home on Lawrence Street in Caspian.
The victim’s name isn’t being released until after a medical examiner’s report at the very least.
The house was fully involved in flames when crews got there, with the second floor having already caved into the first floor.
It took about 12 hours for firefighters to clear the scene.
Besides the victim, there was also a witness in the house when the fire started.
That person’s name is also not being released.
But the state fire marshal, local fire crews and state police from the Iron River post are talking to that witness.
The cause hasn’t been determined yet.
The home itself is also a total loss.
