Turnovers cost ‘Cats against ODU
The Northern Michigan football team fell to Ohio Dominican on Saturday, 30-23. The Wildcats committed three turnovers (two interceptions and one fumble) in the loss to the Panthers.
Ohio Dominican had a 14-0 lead in the first quarter courtesy of two touchdown passes by quarterback Mark Miller. The Wildcats scored their first touchdown of the game early in the second quarter, when quarterback Cody Scepaniak scrambled into the end zone from 8-yards out. NMU trailed ODU 17-10 at the half.
Despite a late touchdown by the Wildcats, the Panthers held on for the seven point victory. Ohio Dominican had 425 yards of offense in the game. The Panthers finished the afternoon with 301 rushing yards.
Northern Michigan is now 1-1 on the season. The Wildcats will play their first road game of the season, next Saturday, Sept. 28 at Ashland.
