Escanaba man sentenced for CSC, child abuse
An Escanaba man was sentenced today in connection with abusing and sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s fifteen-year-old son.
Carl Pellinen, 47, was sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court Monday to 17 and a half to 50 years on one count of first degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, Aiding and Abetting. He was also sentenced to 25 to 50 years on first degree Child Abuse.
The boy’s mother, Susan Bardo, was sentenced August 13 to 20 to 50 years on each of two charges: first degree Child Abuse and Torture.
The pair was arrested in April after Escanaba Public Safety Officers went to a home in the 1500 block of North 20th Street to conduct a welfare check on Bardo’s fifteen-year-old son. Police found the boy in an eight by ten foot upstairs room lined with tarps.
