Gussert named Class ‘D’ Player of the Year
Forest Park forward Lexi Gussert has been named the Class ‘D’ Player of the Year by the Associated Press. The junior averaged 32 points and 11 rebounds per game this season for the Trojans.
Gussert has garnered attention from division one schools, including Michigan State and Tennessee. She was one of four unanimous selections on the Class ‘D’ All- State team.
Joining Gussert on the All-State team is Superior Central forward Vanessa Freberg. The junior led the way this season for the Cougars, averaging 17.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
Freberg and the Cougars went a perfect 20-0 during the regular season.
