LSCP honors Bergdahl, Cliffs with Service Awards

One person and one company who have had an impact on Marquette County were honored Friday night.

Cliffs Natural Resources and former Marquette County Commissioner Chuck Bergdahl were honored at the Lake Superior Community Partnership’s Distinguished Service Awards.  Cliffs won the Business Award and Bergdahl won the Individual award.

Both have been important members to Marquette County, and have been members of the LSCP since it began fifteen years ago.

Dennis Smith, Chair of the LSCP said it is an “amazing feeling to be able to recognize them, and to have the community applaud them for what they do.”

Cliffs and Bergdahl were chosen after the almost 700 members of the LSCP sent in nominations.  The nominations were narrowed down and the LSCP officers voted for the final winners.

The award ceremony had a fun “Sail Away” sailor theme.  Dinner, drinks and appetizers were also served, and there was a silent raffle.
