Fill the Truck at Walmart
The Marquette Salvation Army and Walmart are teaming up to help the community this holiday season.
Walmart is helping the Salvation Army collect toys and winter coats for children as part of a “Fill the Truck” campaign.
Kurston Taskey, asisstant manager of the Marquette Township Walmart store, says the two organizations have teamed up before but the “Fill the Truck” campaign has never been at the store previously.
The truck will be parked outside the store tomorrow from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Salvation Army is looking for toy donations for all ages, from infants to teenagers.
Capt. Joel Arthur says teenagers are the hardest to shop for, but that means those items are needed the most.
He says the Salvation Army will be helping 782 families, up 300 from last year.
