Rotary Club Toy Drop

The Ishpeming Salvation Army, along with the Ishpeming and Negaunee Rotary Club, is playing Santa.

A truckload of toys was delivered this morning to the Ishpeming Salvation Army, and riding on the coattails of last year’s success, the second year of this program is bigger and better.

Organizers are hoping this is just the beginning for what could become a much larger event.

Toy Drop chair Kimme Peterson says $7,500 in toys came in today.

He says the goal is to fill the basement at the Ishpeming Salvation Army with gifts, and they’re close to doing that already.

Peterson says it would be wonderful to have a convoy of trucks bringing items in.

The toys that came in today will be handed out between now and Christmas.
