NMU Men's B-Ball playing in holiday tournament

MARQUETTE, Mich. -The Northern Michigan University men’s basketball team will spend the holiday weekend in Milwaukee, Wis. participating in the Fresh Coast Classic. The Wildcats play No. 15-ranked Winston-Salem State in the first college semifinal game at 3 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 23). The tournament is being played at Wisconsin Lutheran College. There is also a full slate of high school games being played over the weekend at the Classic.

NMU (1-0) enters the weekend after opening up the regular season at home against Finlandia on Saturday (Nov. 17). The ‘Cats defeated the Lions 129-52 from the Berry Events Center, with seven players in double figures.
Sophomore forward Kendall Jackson led all scorers with a game-high 23 points on 10-for-12 shooting and added nine rebounds. Senior forward TJ Cameron had a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

WSSU is an NCAA Division II member of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Rams are 1-2 and ranked No. 15 by the National Association of Basketball coaches.
The two losses are to UNC-Greensboro and USC Aiken with the lone win over Barber Scotia.

It will be the first meeting between both schools with the winner advancing to the championship game on Saturday at 7 p.m. The second semifinal is a matchup between No. 14 Saint Leo from Florida and Lincoln from Pennsylvania.

100.3 FM ‘The Point’, the official radio voice of the NMU Wildcats, will broadcast both games.
