Former Huskie recalled from ECHL to AHL

CEDAR PARK, Texas — The Texas Stars, the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today that former Michigan Tech goaltender Josh Robinson has been recalled from loan with the Idaho Steelheads, the Stars ECHL affiliate.
Robinson, who played four years at Michigan Tech (2008-12), attended the Texas Stars training camp and joined Idaho on loan on Oct. 8. The Frankenmuth, Mich., native has appeared in six games for the Steelheads this season, posting a 5-0-1 record with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. Robinson was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Oct. 15-22 by winning both of his first two career pro starts and allowing three combined goals in two road victories over the Colorado Eagles.
Robinson was the most valuable player for the Huskies a year ago when he posted a 15-14-4 record in 35 appearances. The netminder posted a .909 save percentage and 2.83 goals against average to help the Huskies advance to the WCHA Final Five.
Of Michigan Tech’s six-member 2011-12 senior class, Robinson and four others have played professionally this season.
Brett Olson signed a contract with American Hockey League’s Abbotsford (B.C.) Heat in early October. He has since played 10 games with one goal and four assists, helping the Heat to seven wins and a second-place standing in their division.
Jordan Baker finished last season with the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL, tallying one goal and two assists in nine games (including three playoff games). He is currently with the Rapid City Rush of the Central Hockey League, where he ranks second on the team in scoring with four goals and five assists in nine contests.
Alex MacLeod began the season with South Carolina of the East Coast Hockey League and is currently playing for the Columbus (Ga.) Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League. He has one assist in three games in 2012-13 so far.
Bryce Reddick signed and played one game with his hometown Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL.
