GOP office theft update

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the theft of office and video equipment from the Marquette County Republican Headquarters Office.  The office is located at the Jilbert Center, 2168 U.S. 41, Marquette Township.  The items were removed from the facility sometime between approximately 9:30 p.m. Monday, July 30, and 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 31.

Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is calling the theft a “Larceny from a Building complaint.”  The items stolen from the office include a Dell desktop computer, office scanner, and a 32” Visio flat screen LCD television.

Police say the office was left unsecured at approximately 9:30 p.m. Monday and the crime was discovered 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have observed any suspicious activity in that area to contact a deputy at (906) 225-8470.
