Benishek has strong fundraising efforts
‘Benishek for Congress’ announced its second quarter fundraising numbers today. The Congressman Dan Benishek re-election campaign released a press release saying it had raised a total of $295,000 for the quarter, and ended with $605,000
cash on hand.
Benishek, a Republican who was elected in 2010, issued the following statement thanking supporters for their support:
“I want to thank everyone for supporting our efforts working to fix Washington. This level of support proves that people are still sick and tired of watching their future and their children’s future destroyed by irresponsible politicians in Washington. Meeting with families throughout Northern Michigan, people tell me ‘let’s fix the problems in
Washington today’ and restore our country to greatness. That’s what I’ve set out to do.”
Benishek continued, with “I never planned to run for public office, I’ve been a doctor up here for over thirty years. I know it won’t be easy but I plan to work hard everyday to find solutions that will help us bring jobs and opportunities to our area for this generation and generations to come. Together I know we can fix Washington and get Northern Michigan back to work.”
Democrat State Representative Gary McDowell is competing with Benishek for the First District position.
