First-Time Home Buyer Assistance
It’s one of those deals that sound too good to be true.
The difference is, this one’s legitimate.
The Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Region is offering first-time home buyers assistance in purchasing a house.
It’s called the Houghton County Homebuyer Purchase and Rehabilitation Program.
All a buyer has to do is meet a few basic requirements, such as having adequate income, having good credit.
The home must also be in Houghton, Hancock, Quincy Hill or Hurontown.
WUPPDR executive assistant Ashley Curtis says the organization has had this offer since 2010, and so far, no one has taken them up on it.
Time is running out — the program expires at the of this year.
