Americans with Disabilities Act still going to work 30 years later

ISHPEMING — Meet 27-year old Eric Dompierre, Former Ishpeming Hematite kicker, now working for Jubilee Foods in Ishpeming.

Eric says he loves his job because he gets to stay local and help the town anyway he can.

“He’s always trying to lend a hand with anybody he sees might need one,” said Dustin Gransinger, Store Manager at Ishpeming Jubilee Foods. “Whether it’s an elderly person or a woman struggling to get to her car with her kids, [Eric]’s out there helping put groceries in the car.”

Despite Eric’s challenges, he’s been more than capable of performing the tasks given to him at Jubilee Foods; and his co-workers thank him for that.

“You got to look at someone and if you got a job, and they fit it, then you give them a shot and Eric has certainly done that for us,” said Gransinger.

Eric is no stranger to tough assignments, and he hopes he can be an example for other challenged individuals.

“I’m proud to work so others can work also,” said Eric Dompierre.

You can find Eric at your local Jubilee Foods in Ishpeming, next to the Greater Ishpeming–Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce. Say hi to him when you get a chance.
