Downtown Ishpeming the site of Crazy Days Sidewalk Sale

ISHPEMING — Downtown Ishpeming was the location of the Crazy Days Sidewalk Sale on Friday, July 3rd.

The event, organized by multiple local agencies such as the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Ishpeming, was held on Division and Pearl Street from 12–6 pm.

Many local establishments participated by setting out merchandise in front of the street for the public to purchase.

“We’ve had a steady stream of people coming through,” said Bob Hendrickson, Executive Director for the Greater Ishpeming – Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce. “Lots of people wearing masks, some choosing not to at this point and we’re outside so we’re feeling good with that. Everybody is keep social distancing so that’s been really nice. It’s funny to say that we’re hoping for a small event, but that’s what we have and I’m glad we were able to do that. It’s not only just the Chamber of Commerce, but it’s the City of Ishpeming and business owners willing to step up and do that and kind of think outside the box and provide a venue where something normal can happen.”

Hendrickson says this was just a kickoff for other events that will be taking place during the summer, such as the Summer Concert Series, starting on July 16th.
