HOUGHTON COUNTY — On the morning of June 25, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office was alerted of a man slumped over in his vehicle in front of the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies identified the 32-year-old Hancock man as “nodding off” and passing out from having just intravenously used narcotics. The subject was observed as having a needle on his lap.

The subject recovered in a short amount of time without requiring medical attention. He said that he was waiting for his girlfriend, who was meeting with her probation officer.

The subject was placed in custody for a bond violation from a previous case. His girlfriend was also lodged at the Houghton County Jail for a probation violation.
