The Easter Bunny visits Ishpeming for Easter Weekend
ISHPEMING — The Easter Bunny rode around the City of Ishpeming on Saturday, April 11, for Easter Weekend with the help of the local fire department.
The Easter Bunny was on top of the Ishpeming Fire Stations truck and rode through the streets and neighborhoods of Ishpeming waving hello. Children and parents walked out of their homes to greet the Easter Bunny while still maintaining a proper social distance.
“Everybody is locked down and getting cabin fever,” Said Brett Anttila, Chief Engineer at the Ishpeming Fire Department. “So we’re just trying to get something out and trying to make it memorable. Trying to celebrate Easter anyway we can. I think it’s a good thing to get everybody out. They can move around, come out and wave to the Easter Bunny and keep their distance. You’ll at least see the Easter Bunny and have something memorable. It’ll be different from an average year and the whole thing will be different.”
The City of Ishpeming would like to thank the Ishpeming Fire Department and Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum for helping with coordinating Saturday’s ride around.
