Brookridge Heights participates in Spread Goodness Day
MARQUETTE — Brookridge Heights Assisted Living in Marquette, began baking cookies earlier on Thursday, March 12th, for Spread Goodness Day that is on Friday, March 13th.
The cookies were prepped and packaged later that evening in order to be ready for delivery the following day. This was the first year Brookridge participated in Spread Goodness Day after recently receiving a brand new kitchen for all residents to use.
“They miss baking, and they miss being able to do that,” said Jamie Weeder, Resident Experience Director at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living. “This is an activity that they (residents) have come up with, designed to try and give back to the community. So they decided they wanted to bake and decorate cookies. We will package them up and tomorrow for Spread Goodness day, we are going to deliver them to our first responders, our policemen, our fireman, and our EMTs.”
The Brookridge residents are excited to finally be able to give back to their community in a way that everyone can enjoy.
