February is Adopt-a-Rescue-Bunny Month at UPAWS

GWINN –The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is hosting a special event throughout the month of February for bunnies.

February is Adopt–a–Rescue–Bunny Month at the shelter. Members from the community that are looking for a new furry friend will be able to adopt a bunny to join their family. All bunnies’ adoption fees will be waived for the month of February.

“Rabbits are the third most surrendered animals in the shelters,” said Ann Brownell, Community Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator at UPAWS. “So there are rabbits galore, all over that need homes.”

The free adoption will include their spayed or neuter procedure and a health check. With every adoption of a bunny, the recipient will also be entered into a drawing at UPAWS. The prize of the drawing will be for a bunny gift basket.
