No injuries reported at structure fire in Wells Township
WELLS TOWNSHIP — At 9:02 this morning the Escanaba Department of Public Safety responded to a structure fire at 4921 Karen Street in Wells Township.
No one was at or in the residence at the time of the fire. The residence sustained heavy smoke damage as a result of the fire.
After entering the residence, officers applied water to a couch that had been burning.
No injuries are reported, other than a cat that had perished in the fire, and another cat that has not been located.
A dog found outside of the residence was unharmed.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Delta County Sheriff Department, Escanaba Township Fire Department, Delta County Central Dispatch Center, and others.
