Downtown Ishpeming holds its annual Christmas Parade
ISHPEMING — Downtown Ishpeming held its annual Christmas parade on the evening of November, 29th.
The event is held every year on Black Friday to kick off the start of the Christmas season. It begins on Bless St. and goes all the down until the end of Main St. Lots of the community participates by creating their own float and driving them down the street. With Santa’s workshop being burned down earlier this year, some saw this as a more special moment for the kids and families when the new workshop and Christmas tree lit up.
“It’s a tradition that’s been going on for well over 25 years,” said Tracy Magnuson, President of Ishpeming Community Events and part owner of the Iron Range Agency. “It’s a great opportunity for people to come out, get to see Santa, and do our tree lighting. I think it’s a great thing. Kids love this stuff. They get to see Santa, it’s a beautiful night for it, and it’s just really exciting for the kids.”
Santa’s brand new workshop will be open throughout the month of December until after Christmas day.
